HEAVENLY WATERS HISTORY
|
Heavenly
Waters Youth Camp and Christian Retreat is a non-denominational,
not-for-profit complex located in the picturesque
farmlands
of Wakefield, Virginia. Heavenly Waters was founded in 1996 by
Bishop Lawrence Lewis, founding Bishop of New
Life Church.
In
September of 1996, New Life Church of Hampton, Virginia, purchased the
primary buildings and the 163 acres of land that is now Heavenly
Waters. The 163 beautiful acres are blended with lush wooded areas,
open grassy terrain and a tranquil lake.
In the
summer of 1997, Heavenly Waters began to operate
its youth camp program as the first of its three planned
programs; Christian Youth Camp, Retreat
and
Conference Center. The youth program was well received by the
community, enrolling more than 800 campers.
Our
Staff are carefully selected and recruited from churches and colleges
in Virginia. All staff are active Christians who enjoy
leading
and relating to people. They ensure a memorable experience for you and
your group. Come and enjoy hearty portions of old fashioned,
country-style cooking, served in a casual dining atmosphere.
